The John F. Kennedy Memorial Foundation in Palm Desert, CA may be a small foundation, but it is making a big impact on the lives of teen girls in the community. With only an estimated 2 percent of philanthropic dollars going towards supporting teen girls and women’s issues, the foundation’s focus on empowering and uplifting young girls is truly making a difference.
Building on the community principles that lead our namesake, President John F. Kennedy, the foundation works to provide resources and support to teen girls and families in need. Through various programs and initiatives, the foundation aims to help these girls and families realize their full potential.

One of the foundation’s key initiatives is Ophelia, a mentorship program where teen girls are paired with successful women in various fields who serve as positive role models and provide guidance and support during a critical time in teen girls’ lives. These mentors help the girls navigate the day-to-day challenges they face, focus on academic performance and leadership skills, and inspire them to reach for the stars.
The foundation also provides scholarships and grants to help teen girls pursue their education and career goals. By investing in their future, the foundation is not only changing the lives of these girls, but is also having a generational wealth impact. Research shows when a girl is given the opportunity to succeed, she is more likely to pay it forward and help others in her community.
