Girls participating in the Ophelia Program are called “Mentees”. Mentees are female students, in a school that hosts an Ophelia  Program, who have the potential to benefit from the following: Focused attention and support from an adult, female, Mentor; Participation in a peer group discussion environment where a “safe zone” is created in which to share thoughts, feelings and goal setting for the future; Exposure to self-esteem building, self-awareness and empowerment related topic content.

Ophelia girls stay in school rather than dropping out; their grades improve; they graduate from high school and desire to go on to college! Ophelia Program in Coachella Valley has a 100% graduation rate!
