My Ophelia mentor helped change my life.

Paulina Larson, Marketing and Events Director, Palm Springs Life

I struggled to focus in high school. My Ophelia Mentor helped me gain confidence and discipline to graduate on time. I was the first in my family to attend and graduate college. I continue to live and work in the Coachella Valley. I love my job at Palm Springs Life and look forward to becoming a mentor so I can help other girls the way Ophelia helped me.

A Pathway To Success For Girls.

Launched in 2002 with just 13 girls in one school, Ophelia has influenced more than 5,000 Ophelia girls, all of whom graduated high school on time with college and/or career plans. The Ophelia program:

  • Works to support students to stay in school, maintain their attendance and experience academic success – 100% of Ophelia girls graduate with college/career plans.

  • Collaborates with schools to create positive and supportive learning environments that promote confidence, healthy behaviors and wellness and reduces violence, drug use and other risky behaviors.

  • Inspires with insight from a seasoned, adult mentor with practical knowledge and who has achieved a level of expertise girls aspire to attain.

  • Prevents negative outcomes and promotes resilience among vulnerable adolescent girls, who are the key to breaking the generational cycle of poverty and abuse.
